Blink-stun is a play where a hero uses Blink or a similar instant-movement ability to get into position and immediately follows with a stun or other disable.
It is a common initiation pattern because it removes warning time and can catch an enemy before they react, escape, or cast defensive spells. Blink-stuns are especially important for starting team fights, locking down key targets, and turning vision or positioning advantages into a kill. The term is often used for heroes that reliably open fights with instant gap-closing disables, such as a Blink Dagger into a long-range stun or area disable. For example, a Blink Dagger on Sand King can let him appear next to grouped enemies and instantly start an engagement with Burrowstrike, setting up follow-up damage from teammates.
