CT: What does CT mean in Valorant and CS:GO?

Similar to the 'cops and robbers' team assigning that has been done long before any of us were born, Valorant, CS:GO, and similar first-person shooter players use the terms 'terrorist and counter-terrorist', or T and CT for short.

While these terms aren't official in the case of Valorant, players borrow the jargon or keywords from CS:GO to refer to attackers as terrorists (T) and defenders as counter-terrorists (CT). In most cases, however, when players say T or CT they mean the spawn points of the attackers and defenders respectively in both games since Valorant itself doesn't have any official name for them.

As a matter of fact, these aren't the only phrases Valorant players borrow from CS:GO. For example, the spike in Valorant is commonly referred to as 'the bomb' because players used to calling it that from CS:GO.

Are CTs better than Ts?

It is difficult to say whether Counter Terrorists (CTs) are better than Terrorists (Ts) in games like Valorant and CS:GO, as it ultimately depends on the players themselves and their abilities. Both teams have their own strengths and weaknesses, and the outcome of a round or match can depend on many factors, such as the players' skill levels, the weapons and equipment they are using, and their strategy. Ultimately, the best team is the one that is able to work together effectively and outmaneuver their opponents to achieve their objective.

Why do people use the term CT in Valorant?

This term originated in the game Counter-Strike, which was developed by Valve Corporation and released in 1999. In the game, players can choose to play as either the Terrorist team or the Counter Terrorist team, with each team having its own unique objectives and strategies. The term "CT" has been carried over into other games in the genre, including Valorant, and is often used as shorthand to refer to the Counter Terrorist team that needs to prevent a bomb (spike in Valorant) plant or defuse it.
