Eco is a round in which a team deliberately spends little or no credits so it can save for a stronger buy in a later round. In VALORANT, eco rounds are used to manage the economy, often relying on pistols, basic utility, or minimal investment while accepting a lower chance to win that round.

Teams may choose an eco after losing multiple rounds, or force an eco when they want to preserve money for the next full buy. Callouts like “eco,” “ecoing,” or “eco round” are standard shorthand in team chat and match commentary.
